Environmentally Friendly Christmas Trees
How can we still enjoy our Christmas Celebrations and have an environmentally friendly Christmas Tree? The Original Living Christmas Tree Company, located in Portland Oregon and founded by John Vogel, has rented out 419 Christmas Trees this year with the environment in mind. Prices starting at $55.00 for a 7 ft Douglas Fir. They pull the trees out of the ground, roots and all, and place them in large pots ready for delivery. It is a completely Eco-friendly way to celebrate your Christmas because after your done with the tree, it is picked up and previous arrangements have been made to plant the trees in parks and recreation areas for $10.00 a piece.
Imagine just one company planting that many trees per season. If the rest of the Christmas Tree industry thought that way, they could save millions of trees every year. If they replant trees instead of burning them or throwing them in the dump, it could have a positive impact on our environment. Vogel says he could do a lot more business, however he will never sell more trees than the orders he has for replanting them. All it takes is a few hundred people, like John Vogel, to come up with viable ideas like this to help the environment and replenish what we take from our Earth. John Vogel is truly a Green Earth Friend.
